FrnkIero andthe Cellabration

Frnkiero and the Cellabration have released their startling new video for Joyriding late last week, and what a fun and slightly unsettled ride it is. Led by Frank Iero (My Chemical Romance), the band’s debut LP Stomachaches has been hitting the mark with MCR converts, new listeners and media worldwide since its anticipated release last week.

Directed by Brooklyn based duo Ghost + Cow (who directed previous video Weighted), Joyriding is a stark full band performance video, with a slightly disturbing and certainly visually striking twist. An interesting contrast to the crisp-then-crunchy singalong punk track and deliciously self deprecating catchcry “I hate my weaknesses, they make me who I am”.

Filmed over just 17 hours in a purpose built room in Iero’s backyard, Frank commented “I honestly thought it was going to be easier to pull off than it was. When you imagine it, you think, ‘oh, this doesn’t sound that difficult…,’ but when you begin to fully realize what needs to happen, in what specific order things need to happen, and what can get ruined and stained in the process… the task becomes a bit daunting.”
