Brisbane indie act The Trouble with Templeton today announced they have signed to independent UK label Bella Union for the release of their debut album Rookie to the rest of the world.

The label, famous for acts such as Fleet Foxes, Beach House, Midlake, The Flaming Lips, Father John Misty and The Dirty Three were attracted to adding the band to their roster after founder Simon Raymonde stumbled across their Australian breakthrough hit “Six Months in a Cast“.

I first heard of The Trouble With Templeton over a year ago through their manager Jess (Beston), and played them on my radio show, then was lucky enough to be in their hometown Brisbane for a keynote at the BIGSOUND music conference at the end of 2013, and had a chance to really fall deep!” says Raymonde.

The label will issue a double-A side single Soldiers / Glue to UK media this week, with the band heading over to the UK & Europe in May to support the album’s release.
