Describe your sound and lyric style
Difficult one really! Every member of the band is influenced by different genres and different people, So I guess in a few words, it would be a blend of UK Hip-hop mixed with pop rock, and some elements of electro with use of the synths and samples. Something for everyone!
Who are your main influences? What else inspires you?
With out sounding like a massive cliché, we influence each other! We always come into the studio showing off a track we heard where we like the beat here, or the keys there. In terms of artists, we try to stay away from sounding like somebody else but we certainly appreciate production on a lot of albums.
The new Bastille album sounds really nice in bits, and some of the new Foals stuff is real good. But then in completely different spectrum, Discloser and Rudimental have been on the iPods a lot lately! We are all inspired by trying to make the best music we can possibly make.
We record everything ourselves so we have such scope with what we do, and mess around with loads of different sounds. It’s really good fun and really productive, but sometimes we’ll listen back to an ‘off the wall’ idea we had last week and be like…..er no
What are you working on now?
At the moment we are spending every waking hour in our little home-built studio at Sam’s house, writing and recording, either tracks we have in the bag, or brand new stuff. With a view to release an EP available for free in a few months. We are releasing the tracks intermittently so people don’t have to wait longer between new tracks, and then we shall be gigging later in the year hopefully. We will let you know!
Are you touring now? When/where?
We are doing some acoustic shows whilst we are still in writing mode, to test out the new material to the masses! But nothing planned as of yet in terms of tours.
What can people expect at your live gigs?
People can expect big sounds! We are really going to nail the live show this year and get it sounding huge. There are 5 of us, so expect a lively performance with some boyish charm thrown in for good measure!! After the last few years, most of the guys have toured through out the last few years, and made some amazing friend and had some fun in the mean time, gigs with The Skints, who are doing so well, The King Blues, Sonic Boom Six to name a few. So this year we are taking some time out of that to get a brand set of songs recorded and then start that again later in the year.
Where can people check out your music?
People can download all the tracks for free, all the music we are releasing in the near future will be free to download and even some past stuff is free on BandCamp – We are an up and coming band so the idea is to get it to as many people as possible, so its all free!
