The Sun Explodes "SevenThreeOne"

Introduce yourselves- where are you from and who plays what?
We’re The Sun Explodes from Carlisle.

Dave Maclachlan – Vocals, Keys
Jamie Harris – Drums
Alex Harris – Guitar, Vocals
Mike Walker – Bass
Alex Adamson – Guitar, Vocals

Describe your sound and lyric style
Our sound is purposefully hard to describe, we aspire to create something original and not merely become a mish mash of our influences. That being said bands we have drawn comparisons to are: Muse, System of a Down, Coheed & Cambria, Queen, Fightstar. So pretty varied! Lyrically, our vocalist Dave favours painting a picture with his lyrics rather than drawing from his life, although there is a bit of that too.

Who are your main influences? What else inspires you?
Influences are very varied across the band, but some include: Queen, The Mars Volta, Periphery, Devil Sold His Soul, Arcane Roots. Anytime we watch a band live who has their shit together, we are inspired to do better.

What are you working on now?
We’re working on promoting the video/single for “SevenThreeOne“, the first single off our upcoming second album “We Build Mountains“.

Are you touring now? When/where?
Not at the moment, we have our album release show in May and we’re taking bookings for dates after that. If anyones interested contact: info@thesunexplodes.com

What can people expect at your live gigs?
Madness. Our shows are pretty frenetic, loud, and colourful. Playing gigs is the reason we do everything else. Its where we’re at home.

Where can people check out your music?
Our last album is up on Spotify and iTunes, and the “SevenThreeOne” single hit iTunes on March 19th. We also have some other music videos/acoustic stuff/live stuff up on YouTube.
