My Chemical Romance announced today that they are disbanding. A message from the band posted on http://www.mychemicalromance.com states:
“Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We’ve gotten to go places we never knew we would. We’ve been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We’ve shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure.”
After the release of their second album Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge they released their most popular album, The Black Parade. A rock opera concept album, it showed off a love of Queen, Pink Floyd and old-fashioned musicals and became their most successful release. They followed it in 2010 with Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys.
Last year the band were reported to be working on new songs for their fifth album.
