FEATURE ARTIST: THE SHALLOWS

Introduce yourselves- where are you from and who plays what?
We’re the Shallows, call us what you will be I guess we’re a straight up indie rock band from London. 2 guitars, bass & drums and loads of harmonies. We like to put a lot into our production but live we’re quite stripped down.

Describe your sound/lyric style
Our sound is a mix up of lots of artists we’re inspired by ranging from The Strokes to The Bird and The Bee and from Neu to Two Door Cinema Club.

Who are your main influences? What else inspires you?
We’re inspired by life, have a read of our Manifesto (www.theshallows.co/about)

What are you working on now?
We’ve just release out debut EP ‘About Time Vol.1’ which is the first of three EP’s we’re releasing over the new few months. We’ve also just released our first video:  http://tinyurl.com/FairlyTrueVideo so we’re doing a lot of promo and gigs for them. We’re working on our 2nd EP which is due for release in a couple of months and we’ve also got a few more videos in the pipeline as well as writing new material, we’re a lways writing new songs.

Are you touring now? When/where?
Our current dates for gigging are 09/11/12 at the Barfly in Camden and 14/11/12 at The Enterprise in Camden.  It’s worth checking out our site or Facebook though as we’re updating new dates on a weekly basis.

What can people expect at your live gigs?
The live gigs are a lot of fun, we include the EP in the set so people are familiar with our songs but we also have a lot of other tracks for people to dance around to. We definitely bring a lot of energy to our live shows.

Where can people check out your music?
If you want to find us online our main site is www.theshallows.co – that’s not a typo, it is .co.  We’re on Facebook, Twitter and Soundcloud with the extension /theshallowsuk and you can buy our EP @ www.music.theshallows.co where we have it in digital format as well as some cool limited edition CDs that are shipping at the end of October.
